Preparations for Handmade Oxford
Preparing for a show or a market can take quite a while but each one can differ.
I've had markets that I've rocked up at with whatever was in the box from the previous market (usually because it was booked last minute) but some markets and shows I've spent days preparing for. Handmade Oxford being the latter.
Although making jewellery for the show is a top priority, there's also the "behind the scenes" jobs. From marketing, table or stand display, ordering packing and promotional materials, designing said promotional materials and general admin such as accommodation, child care arrangements and even playing Tetris to fit it all into the car!
I received my acceptance at the beginning of February and in typical Jen fashion, I've left it pretty late to get myself organised, nothing like a tight deadline to ensure things get done!
A few things left of my list are;
- email marketing - if you want to join my mailing list, fill out the form at the bottom of this page!
- social media scheduling - albeit I will be taking photos of the event as it happens, if all of my headings are prepared, it saves me so much time!
- apply my logo to my new table cloth
- pack - literally everything (clothes, food, jewellery, table display, promo materials, packaging)
- finish new designs
- send jewellery for Hallmarking
I'm hoping to introduce three new designs at Handmade Oxford; a necklace, a new ring and my first pair of hoop earrings! They all need polishing before I share them with you though!
If you'd like to come and see me in Oxford, please drop me a message as I have some complimentary tickets available!
Handmade Oxford at Waterperry Gardens 12th - 14th June 2025
Anyway that's enough from me for now!
